The Agent Code
October/27/2008 06:20 PM
Since I retired from being a network television
producer and began advising actors on career
matters, I have consulted with tens of thousands
of actors all over the world - and there's one
question I get asked on almost a daily basis ...
"How do I get an agent?" Read More...

FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY
September/29/2008 12:06 AM
Fashion photography requires a fusion of being a strong portrait photographer and the ability to create images for the advertising market. You must be up to date on the latest design and fashion trends and be able to sell your images to the fashion editor. Fashion photography is advertising and selling high end clothes.

Time for Prints or Trade for Prints What is it?
Here is an article from wikipedia on the topic - http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Time_for_print&oldid=216255589
While each photographer and model have different perceptions of what exactly this is. It is essentially an agreement between the model and the photographer to exchange services for some equal trade. This reason I write about this is lately I have had some models debate this with me.

Working for Free
September/17/2008 12:16 AM
The other day I got the message below from a model I shot with, and thought it would be interesting to share, since I am sure many other photographers run into this from time to time. I took the names out since I don't want anyone to get a bad rap. This is a great thread since it demonstrates what some folks mindsets are. While I really do enjoy shooting TFCD and helping models get going, I think many of them don't realize or forget I am at this to actually make a living, and have invested a tremendous amount of work, and funds into it. Funny thing about this email thread, or perhaps not so funny, is I never heard back from her, so I don't know if she is mad or what.
Anyway, I hope all that read this find it useful, I would be interested to get some comments for experiences others have had.

Model Releases
September/17/2008 12:15 AM
What I am doing with my blogs are the following, I am alternating them. So in other words I write one that is fun,and goofy, then I will write the next one that is relevant to the Photographic Community, or I will share my experiences with Photography. So for this blog I want to outline the use of documents, and how doing this task will make your life so much easier, in particular if you are planning on selling or displaying any images. By the way if I do sell the images I usally work out some compensation share with the model, that would be a separate agreement.
